Classification of Digital Photos Taken by Photographers or Home Users
In this paper, we address a specific image classification task, i.e. to group images according to whether they were taken by photographers or home users. Firstly, a set of low-level features explicitly related to such high-level semantic concept are investigated together with a set of general-purpose low-level features. Next, two different schemes are proposed to find out those most discriminat...
متن کاملAutomatic correction of amateur photos damaged by backlighting
In this paper we consider a problem of enhancement of amateur photos damaged by backlighting for printing. The purpose of correction is to make photos more pleasant for an observer. Photos with exposure problems and with poorly distinguishable details in dark areas are main subject of our research. Our approach is based on contrast stretching and alpha-blending of both brightness of the initial...
متن کاملPhotoMap - Automatic Spatiotemporal Annotation for Mobile Photos
The amount of photos in personal digital collections has grown rapidly making their management and retrieval a complicated task. In addition, existing tools performing manual spatial and content annotation are still time consuming for the users. To annotate automatically these photos using mobile devices is the emerging solution to decrease the lack of the description in photo files. In this co...
متن کاملAutomatic Text Searching For Personal Photos
This demonstration presents the MediAssist prototype system for organisation of personal digital photo collections based on contextual information, such as time and location of image capture, and content-based analysis, such as face detection and recognition. This metadata is used directly for identification of photos which match specified attributes, and also to create text surrogates for phot...
متن کاملAutomatic Identification of Red-Eye in Photos
A simple algorithm is proposed for detecting the red-eye defect in photographs on a pixel-by-pixel basis. The algorithm implements a support vector machine using the degree of redness in the surrounding context as features. Results are sub-par, chiming in at 9% false positives and 15% false negatives.
